How long do ferrets live?

Why do ferrets from Marshall Farms not live as long?

  • I just heard that ferrets from Marshall Farms don't live as long as ferrets from other places is this true?? That's where I got my ferrets from so I'm really worried now! What did they do to them that makes them not live as long??

  • Answer:

    1. Poor breeding practices. They breed for cute colors and patterns, not for what is best fir health. 2. Spayed or neutered too young. 3. Fed inferior ferret food. Marshall food is practically mostly corn instead of meat. Using bad food leads to many serious problems later in life. 4. They come from a mill, so no one gets a lot of attention or handling. Ferrets are often undersociapized, leafing to depression.

Because marshalls is a mill and their ferrets are poorly bred. Most ferrets in the US are from marshall farms. All of my ferrets were origionally from marshall farms and I adopted them from a shelter (I can tell they are marshall ferrets because they have blue dots on their ears) Don't worry too much. Just take proper care of your ferrets.

Slave to the Wheek

because their food isnt the quality nor type the ferrets should have. its more corn so it messes up their insides because they are supposed to eat meats and they breed them for patterns :/
