How much does it cost to get a rabbit spayed?

Should my rabbit get spayed?

  • I have a female rabbit who is about 6 months old. She is an outdoor bunny, and for the past couple months she's been more aggressive, protesting when i pick her up, trying to squirm out of my arms, etc. I've done some research and a lot of sources say that spaying will calm the rabbit, as well as decrease the risk of her getting cancer later on. But she doesn't have another rabbit to compete with, or a male to get her pregnant, so it's not completely necessary that she gets spayed. I just want her to be calmer so I can cuddle with her. I want her to love me!!! So I want opinions on whether or not I should get her spayed and why! Thank you so much for helping me out!

  • Answer:

Hormones are probably starting to drive her nuts. Even without a male present, her hormones will drive her to be territorial and fairly unco-operative. It may also mean she has false pregnancies which can cause them to stop eating, get VERY aggressive and may cause gut stasis. Definitely get her spayed.
