Should I make a C&C cage for my guinea pigs?

Question about Guinea pigs?

• i am looking into getting two guinea pigs, i am going to put my two female rabbits to sleep in about 3 days(its a very sad time in the house right now) we want to get two guinea pigs to fill the hole that daisey and Nala will make. first i was wondering if they will eat the rabbit food we have, we just bought it about a week ago before we went to the vet and found out the bad news. its called puriana rabbit chow. i know that guinea pigs also need lots of vitamin c so i will buy lots of oranges for them to eat. the cage that Nala and Daisey had was http://www.critterconnection.cc/images/products/TOMMY_C_120BG.jpg the Dimensions: 47 1/4” W x 23” D x 22” H is that big enough(no our rabbits were not kept in it, we actually put them in there then thhy got to big so we just made a cage for them out of a dog pen) is htat good enough? and should we get two males or two females, and how do you sex them. Sorry its so lng we dont want to jump into an animal we know nothing about, also could we use pine in there litter box?
