Where can I buy wild rabbit food?

What are inexpensive timothy-based rabbit pellet brands sold in the US?

  • For awhile I had been feeding my rabbits alfalfa-based rabbit pellets (such as manna pro), and my mini lop is getting a bit overweight. I was told that timothy-based pellets were a lot healthier alternative, but I can't seem to find any inexpensive ones in my area. There's one brand called ZuPreem, which is only at one location near me, and is $11 for 5lb. The problem is, I looked up "ZuPreem Rabbit Food" on Google and saw that it said "$4 for a 5lb bag". I thought, heck, I'll sell the 30lbs I have left of the 50lb bag of Producer's Pride (junk) and get the other, little bit more expensive brand. I sold the rest of what I had today, and I saved a couple bags full for the transition of that food to their next food. Expecting it to only be $10 more expensive, for the same quantity, as what I had been paying... it ended up being about 3x more expensive than what I had though. I live in Ohio. Does anyone know of an inexpensive timothy-based pellet I can buy, and where? Thank you!
