Breeding Rabbit Basics?

Questions about Rabbit Breeding?

  • Ok, so I am going to start breeding rabbits. I know everything about breeding, my parents both raised/breed rabbits. Now I have a question. How much would you pay for a dwarf rabbit. These rabbits will be people socialized. They will come with small bag of food, hay, treats, wood block and salt block. I was thinking $60 or best offer.

  • Answer:

$60 sounds reasonable if you are selling quality animals in an urban setting. If you're in a more rural area it might be too much to generate sales. But in an urban area it sounds good. Rescues often ask for more for their bunnies.

Depends on the breed, the quality, and whether they have a pedigree. I'm a breeder and I haven't paid more than $30 for a holland lop with pedigree. I did pay $50 for a pedigreed netherland, but that was because I could get another one for $25.

I say that $60 is a fair price:)

$5 from craigslist. Unless somebody is interested in showing, I doubt they'll go to a breeder and pay real money for a pet rabbit.

Where i live we can buy them from the odd and unusual pet auctions for $1-$5 every spring and fall.

good idea =D however much it costs for the extra supplys plus how much food and bedding costs split between all of the kits should give you the costs of how much to sell them for. if you want to make some proffit to them add around $5-10 extra depending on how much people are willing to pay but i think $60 sounds reasonable i would buy it. =)
