If I want to work with animals, what should I Major in?

Want to work with animals, what are my options?

  • i want to work with animals but unsure of what the options are, i don't want anything as complicated as being a vet, or a pet shop worker or anything with dogs, but apart from that i'd do anything.. i just want to care for the animals, i'd like something along the lines of a zoo keeper, but just not in a zoo... is there anything you could suggest? everyone wants to be a zoo keeper, isn't there something a little more original?

    There are lots of options for working with animals - you can see which suits you best depending on what animals you like, what areas interest you (eg care, training, grooming, etc), how many hours wyou want to work, what sort of salary you want etc. Here are some ideas Kennel or cattery worker Dog trainer or instructor Dog groomer Stable hand Riding instructor Farm worker (whether working farm, or an open farm "petting zoo" type thing) Pet sitter / dog walker Vet nurse Zoo keeper Rescue work - inc animal carer, rescuer / inspector, rehomer Animal technician (looking after lab animals) Good luck!

Hi there. You could: Volunteer at a local farm. Work in a rescue centre. Work in a pet place for re-homing animals. Help out with horses. You could try going to a zoo and asking about other options like being a zoo-helper but at smaller places that the zoo runs and not actually at the zoo? I hope I helped you out - good luck :)

my aunt is a dog trainer and she loves it. u have to go though training to be 1 but u don't have to go to college.

You can work in a shelter, volunteer at farms, vets, groom animals, walk dogs etc...

You could go out and work in an animal shelter but somewher like china where they work with pandas and stuff xx
