How to remove the attached source which was added to a Jar?

Is This A Queen Ant ?

  • I caught what i thought were queen ants who were flying and were clearly mating with there counter part as they were attached to one another. Basically, I caught many but most died accept one and I put it in a separate jar. It's lower end of the body began to increase in size so i assumed it was pregnant and added dirt so it could burrow, after a few days of checking it seemed that it had dug a hole and so i left it for a while. After making it a new home i attempted to remove it but all i could find were some shedded wings a small worm/catipillar and the casing of the 'queen ant'. i am fairly sure that i never put a worm in, is it possible that the worm thing is infact the ant or wasnt it an ant in the first place but instead something else? the flying ant was black and the worm thing is about 1.25cm and is a dark brown thanks in advance, (there was also some small clear circular balls about 1 mm in diameter but im not sure if they were picked up with the dirt)
