Try letting the little guy drink out of a small bowl of water instead of its water dripper. It will be able to drink MORE easier.

Usually antibiotics take a week or more to be effective. They need to build up in the system. Did they vet do any sort of diagnostic tests? Run a blood sample or anything? The sympotoms kind of sound like the beginning stages of insulinoma, which is treatable if caught early. You vet can run a blood glucose check to see. Losing weight could be a lot of factors, including insulinoma. It could also be your food isn't supplying the nutrients necessary. Just because a food has a ferret on the bag doesn't always mean is balanced, sadly. Give that a check too. I'd recommend reading up on insulinoma and seeing if that sounds like your guy. You can also post to the forum I listed below and see what the people there think, they're all really knowledgable.
