Can I put clams in my goldfish tank?

Can you move a Goldfish from a tank and put it into another tank with new fish? Read below to understand.....?

  • I'm thinking about getting a new tank with new fish, but i have a Goldfish. Would it be okay for me to move the Goldfish out of the old tank and putting it into the new tank with new fish? Would this kill my Goldfish? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

As long as the new fishes are considered cold water fishes or can tolerate cooler water than some tropical fish, and the tank is big enough to house both species or more then sure.

Other answers

1. Cycle the new tank with water from the old tank. 2. Those new fish would have to be cold watered fish (like White Cloud Minnows and corydoras) but corydoras and goldfish are not recommended since goldfish have a tendency to try and swallow a cory. And the cory's barbels get stuck in the goldfish's throat... And both fish perish. 3. If the tank is bigger (like 10-20 gallons bigger) you can get another goldfish. 4. If you want try getting an apple snail. :D Fish love em. I've heard of a fish actually becoming very territorial with "their snail."

what kind of fish are you considering putting the goldfish with??? there are very few fish that goldfish are compatible with...
