What is a shark?

Rainbow shark with no back fins WHAT TO DO?

  • ok so i had a rainbow shark in my 8foot tank and he was there about 2 years and is my favourite fish (and i have over 100 in different tanks) but anyway i thought he would be happyer in one of my 4 foot tanks becuase the oscars in the 8ft would get big and eat him etc ..so i moved him to the 4foot and my musk turtle caught him and chewed off his whole back fin :( my musk turtle had never bitten any fish before and maybe he saw my shark as food (i dont know) but anyway i took my shark from that tank and put him in a 14 liter bucket with about 4 inches of water and he could actually swim , so yesterday i moved him to a 60 liter tub with about 4 inches of water again ..but now his back end when his tail should be floats of the surface and he can not swim much at all and he float nearly vertical ..you can see a bit of bone so the turtle chewed on him deep and far ..im just wondering what people on here think .. from where i am i think my options are.. 1.kill my poor little shark 2.get some fin treatment and hope that does something 3.leave him and hope he gets to the point were he can swim again ,but he just seems to be getting worse so i very much doubt that will happen oh and the water temp is around 24c - 26c i just came on here to see what other people would do , thanks

  • Answer:

put him in a hospital tank and constantly monitor him (with no other fish) Injuries like that make it easier for disease to get to your fish
