How do you feed a blind oscar?

What should i feed and how much should i feed my Oscar if he is still a baby?

  • He barely eats feeders only if they are smaller than him, it takes so much time for him to catch ghost shrimp, idk what else to do hahah help lol

  • Answer:

Other person is wrong. Don't feed him feeders yet. All you need to do is feed him around 2-3 times a day, small meals, don't feed twice within 4 hours (food gets digested by fish and stays in stomach for that long), and give him a solid quality flake and some freeze dried shrimp.

Feeder ghost shrimp are fantastic for your Oscar, but will be just a small part of his diet overall. Good, natural food for oscars includes shrimp, krill, insects, and worms. Of course, the main part of his diet is best off as a good quality staple food. I agree more with the second post - when it comes to young fish, smaller and more frequent feedings are optimum. Just feed what he can eat in about a minute, a few times per day.

If it's still a baby it can be fed brine shrimp--krill--freshwater shrimps---bloodworms--meal worms --earthworms or you could give it pellet food.

feed once a day, whatever it can consume in 3 minutes, remove all uneaten food as it will foul the water.
