Would this community tank work?

What fish should I put in my tank?

  • I have a 29 gallon tank. Its a freshwater tank, with a pump tank that also works as a oxygenation to my water since its above water. I have three fake plants and a decorative rock that the fish can hide in. My current water temp is 78 degrees Fahrenheit. I want semi aggressive or community fish, none that don't work together. My sister wants a tetra community, and I'd like anything un ordanary but no bigger than 6 inches full grown. I also want some sort of algae fish. Also, is it ok if I don't do a pH test? I don't want to do another trip to petco, is that ok? I used water conditioner, and the water has been sitting for almost a day. We aren't buying fish until after new years, letting the water circulating until then. Our tank is away from a window, and we leave the light on for roughly 12 hours. Any ideas? I'd like pictures with the fish please. Thanks!!!!

you could get barbs and they are semi-aggresive and work well with tetra and are very pretty if you have any questions or want pics of my set up email me at [email protected]

have you looked up how to cycle a fish tank? it is essential to do this before adding fish into your tank or else they will most likely die unless they are very hardy. it takes a tank roughly 6-8 weeks to cycle and you may do this by either putting the chemical ammonia into the tank as directed or putting pinches of fish food into the tank also as directed. here is a link all about how to cycle a tank. you can buy a Ph test at walmart, but if it is really that much of a hassle, you can just trust the cycle has been completed http://www.aquariumslife.com/freshwater-101/aquarium-cycle/ this site is amazing. i used it to pick out all of my fish. search through all the fish and refine them as you like with the tool on the right. i put you on the page with misc. fish that can do well in a 30 gallon tank. this will be much more helpful for you and will be better than anyone's opinion. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=830+836&r=3122&s=ts&start=1&page_num=1&count=24
