The internet is the best place to go. I bought my plants off of Ebay from people taking them out of their own tanks. The only thing you need to be careful of on Ebay is buying from international sellers. Sometimes the plants will not be accepted at customs and then not be allowed to enter the country. So I chose to buy from within the states and had no problems. Otherwise a good website is http://www.azgardens.com/. The planted tank forums that I am a part of rave about the quality and generally low prices.

i got mine from a flea marrket petstore. the ten dollar plants at petco or petsmart were $2.50 there. it was a fish persons dream. or u could try criagslist.com kijiji.com or aquabid.com....or like micheals of pat catans...craft stores and try and make your own. best of luck :)
