Cichlids help me please?

  • i have 2 african cichlids mixed with 2 central american cichlids will they do good in the same tank its a 40 gallon i know i should of checked for what fish go with what but i was dumb will they do ok or will they fight and bit there fins the 2 african cichlids are auraturas cichlids and the 2 central cichlids are a silvini and convict

  • Answer:

No they cannot both be in the right conditions. African cichlids need hard alkaline water and Central american prefer medium to soft and acidic water. It's like keeping polar bears with grizzly's - both need different IDEAL conditions.

Other answers

No they won't. I looked this question up and I asked the people at Petsmart and the people at Petco because I liked certain african cichlids and certain central american but unfortunately, they both need different things. You'll need two different tanks and to seperate them.

The fish need different water conditions you should go and buy another tank around 30 gallons to put one of the species in.
