My Blood Parrot Fish Is Beating My Other Blood Parrot Fish Up!?
-
I bought two blood parrot fish about a month ago. One of the fish (Squirt) was somewhat aggressive towards my other fish (Dory). For about the last week, the roles have changed and Dory has been INCREDIBLY AGGRESSIVE towards Squirt. For hours on end, Dory will chase Squirt around the tank and ram into Squirt very violently. When Dory isn't chasing Squirt, Squirt either sits on the floor of the tank right by the corner, leaning diagonally, almost vertical. If not in the corner, Squirt floats up top by the filter. Squirt also moves her fins at an incredibly fast rate, as if he/she is stressed, scared, or sick. Is something wrong with Squirt and Dory is just taking advantage, or is Dory just being too tough, and this is causing Squirt to be stressed? Please help! They live in a 30 gallon tank with two caves, one for each fish, a big plant, and a big castle.

Answer:
parrot fish are manmade fish combined from Gold Severums, which are incredibly peaceful and Red Devils, which are increibly aggressive. thts why parrots can be difficult because each one has a different temperament, so long as Dory isnt doing any real damage there shouldnt be anything to worry about. if Squirt starts getting his fins all tore up or looks like he is gasping for air then Dory may have to go.

well, if there "AGGRESSIVE" then they're obviously fighting fish! what are you mental?! put hem in a different tank or separate them dory is gonna kill him!
Well, first off, the tank is too small! That type of fish likes to have it's own territory and Dory has obviously gotten the idea that the tank is her/his! I'd have a 4-5 different caves for them and lots of plants; the caves will help to break up the territory and probably decrease their aggression tons! And the plants block them from seeing each other a lot. They should have 2 caves each at least. Other than that, you might just need to buy a tank divider or a whole other tank. Good luck! :)
Parrots are aggressive fish by nature, "well technically these are manmade frankenfish," And it seems like you have some more than average aggressive fish. Blood parrots should not be in a tank under 55 gallons. They can get to 10 inches each and will eventually need evan bigger than that. But as it is, you need to sepperate them, they already decided to spar , and it will be dificult to get them to live peacfully evan in a different larger tank, "though it is possible." You need to seperate than ASAP, before it is too late.
they are fighter fish it is in there nature
