What Should I do with my newt eggs?

Why would brown or honey colored fire belly newt eggs turn clear?

  • My chinese fire belly newt laid quite a few eggs on the 12 through the 14 of February. When they were first laid they were clear and a honey color, then they all changed to the brown color and now they are turning clear. Why would this happen? Does that mean they are dead or does it mean that they are furtile and that they are starting to develop and getting ready to hatch? This is the first time I have ever had a newt lay eggs.

  • Answer:

well it depends what color the fish is so like goldfish the egg would be brown or orange

Other answers

completely white/creamy coloured eggs tend to mean they are dead (also they tend to get "furry" after they die) clear eggs with the black "baby" in the middle are healthy
