How can you tell how old a betta fish is?

    No idea how old your fish is (bit like asking how long is a piece of string), but the staff at the fish store may have known. If you ring and ask they may know at what age their breeders usually bring them in. Bettas often don't go on sale in shops until they're almost a year old though.

you can guess, but u can't get the exact age unless you had him since he was a fry or the breeder tells you. petsmart bettas are around 1yr http://bettacare101.com

hard to tell. if he has a "great" tale he's over 1 year. I got mine when he was still fry stage. He didn't have a tail at all! oh well he did, but it was still developing. He's now 1 year and happy as a clown fish (haha get it?? clown - happy?) =] Its hard to tell without a picture. And don't care about how old he is. Care about how cute he looks and how much bloodworms he's getting, etc.. Care about giving him caves and plants. Watch him as he goes in the caves, as he wraps himself around the plant leaf and pecks it... =]
