What do you feed a shrimp?

What can I feed adult brine shrimp ?

  • I have an air pump, one live plant in a 3 gallon tank, filled with adult brine shrimp. Can I feed them fry food ? Or what else could I feed them ? The tank is full of them! I have so many, should I get a bigger tank ? Because I feed them to my betta, in a 7 gallon tank, my6 Pygmy puffers in a 12 gallon tank and my 2 african clawed frogs in a 20 gallon tank. I have a 10 gallon tank I feed the babies to them but they don't eat many and my 55 gallon tank I feed them to but they multiply so quickly! How long do they live for and what should I feed them ? Please Help!

  • Answer:

Wild brine shrimp eat microscopic planktonic algae. Cultured brine shrimp can be fed particulate foods including yeast, wheat flour, soybean powder, or egg yolk. I highly recommend you get a larger tank, the bare minimum being around 5g, though I recommend a 10g tank if you're raising brine shrimp to feed your other fish.

I don't think you have brine shrimp because if you had adult brine shrimp i'm sure you would know how to feed them but sense you don't know how to feed them you obviously don't have brine shrimp
