How to make a Planaria Trap and are they effective?

• Hello, I have a planaria problem which just arose a few days ago, and although they are abundant, they are not in massive amounts.. at least not yet. I have heard of flatworm chemicals to kill them but i cannot use them since i have a mystery snail. I also do not have any fish in the tank, and do not wish to buy any. I have heard about the alternative of making a "Planaria Trap" which apparently consists of some sort of container with a couple holes in which inside holds a meat- since planaria are drawn to its scent. I just want to know how effective these are? Also, what kind of "meat" or other food should I put in the trap? Will the meat foul my water quality??? thats is my biggest fear.. can I use algae wafers or shrimp pellets instead of meat? or is meat the most effective? Thankyou friends!

  The most effective way to get rid of Planaria is to up your water changes and gravel vacs to 2-3 times per week and stop over feeding. If you notice un-eaten food make sure to net it out.
