  • Ok so my baby ball python which I got in the mail thursday ( yesterday) opened his mouth 2 time can I checked to see if he had respiratory infection but I didn't see any bubbles or anything and he also drank some water after he had opened his mouth 2 time please help I just got him and I'm worried he has R.L please help me I'm worried sick

  • Answer:

Just keep an eye on. Snakes can randomly open their mouth to adjust their jaws. But like you have also said, it could be a respiratory problem or dislocated jaw. If it persists, consult a reptile specialist. Good luck with it. Hope it's nothing serious

Snakes yawn and I am sure that is what he did. If you snake had RI he would have labored breathing, be wheezing and popping, gaping and have bubbly mucous.

Just keep an eye on him. nothing to worry about too soon. he prob just drank water opened his mouth to drink and he had to put his teeth back into place cos sometimes they get out of place and they open their mouth to put them bak in place.
