Why is my ball python bleeding from the mouth?

Ball python mouth?!?!?

  • I think that my ball python might have mouth rot or a infection in his mouth. He recently got over a case of mites. At first I noticed a little brown spot on his top lip and over the next two days it go worse and spread to his bottom lip also. Today I looked at his face and it is swollen but there is no pus or oozing coming from his mouth. He has also been "yawning" alot since last night. Could this be mouth rot?! If it is what can I do?!??

I agree with the other answers. There's no alternative here - he needs a vet ASAP. As in Monday morning. Professional attention and most likely antibiotics will be needed Good luck

When the ball pyhons yawn alot it usually means there is some sort of lung infection. I would bring your snake to a vet that specializes in reptiles

Your snake needs a vet asap. Whatever he has will need professional treatment and prescribed antibiotics most likely.
