Which monitor should I get?

Which Lizard Should I Get: Savannah Monitor or Green Iguana?

• This will be my first ever lizard and I know what you may be thinking: "THESE AREN'T BEGINNER LIZARDS, AND SHOULDN'T BE, SO GET A BEARDED DRAGON OR A GECKO!" but hear me out for a second, i'm fully aware of that, but i've been around bearded dragons as my cousin has one, some wild-caught fence lizards and a chameleon and i'm just not interested in owning these types of animals as i've always had a fascination with large lizards especially the Monitors and Iguanas, but I constantly do my research on both and have books on both species and also watch vids and try to help other owners that have questions about them since I know a lot, but i'm like really stuck onto which one to get as my first: Iguana or Savannah Monitor? I've seen Savannah Monitors being for sale in my area for either $30.00 something dollars, $50.00, or about $60.00 and I'm sure Iguanas are about like $20.00 but which should I get as I know how aggressive and large that they can be and they can be a bit expensive to house and feed not to mention veterinary appointments and most people aren't willing to take the chance with these large aggressive lizards and end up with giving them away, but I wouldn't do such a thing and I already have names picked out for both and here they are: Savannah Monitor - "Animal" Green Iguana - "Reptar-Yoshi"

• Answer:

  I would personly get a green iguana because they can be very calm and very easy to take care off. But a monitor there is a small chance that it can grow up to be very mean and hatting humans. But if you show it alot of love and care I am sure it would be fine. Why I would choose a green Iguana is because they are more my style very calm and cool with the situation.
