My turtle won't open its eyes...help?

Turtle wont open eyes and barely moves part 2?

  • he will only move when i put hot water over him or warm water, he wont go in his shell and i know my 2 year old should not have touched him but he was very quiet, i also have two other turtles that are five years old and have had them for five years, i never had to deal with something like this and im scared he is going to die, im in a small town in georgia and we dont have exotic vets to take him to. ive tried breathing in his mouth but he wont react, he is spread out and laying his head down, i know he is still alive because when i run warm water on him he moves but besides that he is helpless!! please help anything would help!!!

First, I'd inspect him to look for any injuries. I would recommend keeping him warm for now. Dont' put HOT water on him- just keep him gently warm. Don't stress him out by a lot of poking and proding- it may be painful to move. Don't try breathing into his mouth or anything like that- you will probably end up doing more damage than helping. If he doesn't improve in the next 12-24 hours, get to a vet, even if you have to drive a long way. There are no 'home remedies' that can be done.

Put him in the hot water, and raise the temperature. Add a few veggies, tater and season to tast. Turtle stew!
