What kind of Pet Snake is best for Me?

  • I'm looking for a pet snake, but a pet snake for beginners. I want a snake that doesn't take up a lot of room, doesn't cost much, doesn't cost a lot to take care of. Also, I heard that there were some pet snakes that eat fish? So I would like to know more about those kinds of snakes. And as you can probably tell, I don't like feeding mice, hamsters, other small animals, ( other then fish, or insects ) to a snake, or any animal. So I was hoping that somebody could tell Me what snake would be the best pet snake for Me.

    No one "enjoys" feeding rodents to there snakes but if your not willing to then I don't recommend a pet snake be for you. Also, don't worry about feeding hamsters or anything of that nature because if you get a beginner snake such as a corn snake or a ball python, mice and ,when there adults, rats will do them good for life. If you do get a snake then i recommend feeding f/t which means frozen, then thawed. You can buy frozen mice/rats at pretty much any pet store with snakes or order online. This reduces the risk of injury to the snake by the rodent. If all that sounds like something you can cope with then i recommend a Ball Python or a Corn Snake. Research them and study them before you decide to buy one. Glad I could help!
