Are my fire bellied toads mating?
-
I have two fire bellied toads that I have had for a week, and one night one tried to get on top of the other one, and at first he croaked, but then remained silent. They were like this for about 20 min. and stopped ever since. I am wondering if they were trying to mate, and how long they are supposed to mate, and if they will ever do it again.

Answer:
It is possible that they were trying to mate. When frogs mate the male frog will sit on top of the other frog. This action can happen for days at a time. BUT at the same time toads do tend to climb on top of each other at times. I would wait a bit and see what happens and go from their.
