My dog keeps pooping and peeing in the house?

Housebroken dog is peeing and pooping in our new house?

  • We moved a couple of months ago. Our 4 year old dog, who we have had since she was a puppy, and who we house trained and crate trained as a puppy, started peeing and pooping in the house about 3 weeks ago. She goes on the floor right in front of us, sometimes after just coming in the house. The littles and I are home with her pretty much all day and she has many, many opportunites to go out. I am at a loss as what to do. She has never gone pee or poop in the house since a little puppy, years ago. Also, after we discover she has gone in the house, we call her and she always has her ears down and a look like she knows she did something bad. She is usually a VERY good dog.

Try getting her checked by a vet, maybe she has an infection. Get her spayed, it would take the world off that dogs shoulders.

it could be that your dog feels weird there and is gettting stress and just relieves themselve on the floor. or it could be marking its terittory because of the small of other pet that might have lived there. i would also recommend shampooing your carpets (thoroughly) and if your dog continues i would suggest to retrain her

Maybe she is acting out? Animals act a lot like children. Maybe she is wanting attention? Maybe she doesn't like the move? Maybe its taking her awhile to get used to the new place? Maybe shes feeling "homesick" I guess a dog can feel that way too. My suggestion make her feel as comfortable as possible and maybe reinforce the crate training at the new house.

there was probably animals in the house befor you that peed or pooped on the floor so your dog is smelling it and thinking its ok. i would advise you strongly to shampoo and clean all your floors. if it still happens maybe your dog is jealous or mad that you all moved to a new house.
