How to remove white heads?

How do you remove/prevent black heads in Hairless Dogs?

  • Mine have a few on their necks and heads...I bathe them once a week, then use witch hazel on their bodies then use a hypo allergenic non poar clogging and oil free lotsometimesomtimes use exfoliating wash once a month.....I do squeeze out the dirt and it comes out easily, theres just a lot to get! No white heads or pustuals, just black heads.....what the secret??

  • Answer:

you may need to bathe more often.. or possibly even less often.. yes, less often. Bathing too often can actually dry the skin, and thus cause it to over produce body oils to compensate. do change and wash bedding, clothing and collars often. a good diet also makes a difference.

They make shampoos with salicylic acid and/or benzoyl perioxide for dogs. I would use that in conjunction with a washcloth or something to scrub with. Make sure you wait about half an hour after bathing to apply lotion to allow the pores to close up.
