How do you treat bone spurs?

Aggressive dog when he has a treat/bone?

  • He's two (old enough to know better). He's gone through obedience training. But whenever he has a bone or treat, he become extremely aggressive. Example: He had a bone in his crate. I took him outside this evening before we went to bed. When we came back in, he pulled the leash out of my hand and ran into his crate. I reached in to pull him out so I could take the leash off, and he bit my hand until it drew blood. I grabbed his collar and pulled him out, held him up to my face and yelled at him. He's a yorkie/poodle mix, so he's small, but still has sharp teeth. How can I brake him of his aggressiveness when he has a bone or treat?

  • Answer:

Its never to late to teach an old dog new tricks, for starters don't pull him into your. Face and yell, make him lie down on his side and I mean pinn him on his side and master him, speak stirnly to him tell him bad or no, one to two sylables is best and keep doing it, your master.

normal dog up to you to train and supervise work with daily

It's normal, they use things like a treat or bone to give them comfort and if anything threatens it they won't hesitate to defend it. Just try to let your dog have peace when it wants it's bone/treat, you can't break the habit of him doing that.

Its called Possession aggression. Having him eat it out of your hand. Hold it and let him chew on it. Also teaching the Leave it command helps. Establishing dominance is very important as well. My dog had this pretty bad when I first adopted him, but now he doesnt care.
