I'm guessing around least 40 weeks? 6 weeks off in summer, 2 for Christmas, 1 for Easter, 2 or 3 half term weeks and probably a couple teacher training days so, 40 weeks = school 200 days? If your mum doesn't want a dog it isn't fair on the dog to get one. You can't afford a dog, a dog shouldn't be a child's responsibility. I pay out £80 every 3 months on dog food, £40 every 2 months on grooming, if something comes up health wise (allergies, eye problems) my average vet bill is £40 and on top of that you'd be paying around £10 for a dog walker per day.. £2000 a year. Dog's a life long commitment, what will you do if you decide to go to uni? Who'll look after 'your' dog? What if you then can't find a job? Who'll pay for the dog? What if you get a major vet bill?

Just count the days in your school calendar and minus the weekends and holidays.Simple math.Or go to school and ask.

Beowulf

Talk to your school. Pretty sure it varies from year to year.
