Animal control has a notebook, with pics of dead dogs that they've picked up. Did you check that? Your dream means nothing other than the fact that you were thinking about the dog. A year later, I can guarantee, if the dog is still alive, that he's NOT thinking about you, nor misses you. If he is with a new family, they are all he cares about. I think, perhaps, that you might want to consider getting some professional counseling.
