How can I get my dogs to stop struggling when I brush their teeth?

• How can I brush a dogs teeth without them struggling so much? I can't even brush their teeth properly because they struggle and shake so much! I can't hold them in place cause they wiggle out, and move their face a lot. They like the taste of the toothpaste and when I hold out the toothbrush they wanna lick it. But they flip out whenever I try to clean their teeth. Their breathe smells terrible, but I don't want to put them out just to brush their teeth that's too risky. What can I do?! I want them to have clean healthy teeth, their teeth look unhealthy, but I can't even get a decent quick scrub. They need some scraping on their teeth cause it has build up. D: I just need to know how I can get them to hold still and not move their head so much as I try to clean their teeth.

  You can always try chews that are made for keeping teeth healthy and helping bad breath like Greenies. The dog's toothpaste is more than likely enzymatic so it will gradually break down the plaque on your dog's teeth as long as you can get it on your dog's teeth. You can even just put the toothpaste on your finger and apply it on your dog's teeth that way. There are also dog breath sprays (I know lol, but it really does help with bad breath) Ideally brush your dogs teeth everyday, but if not at least once a week.
