Dry eyes or allergic conjunctivitis?

My cat has a snot like substance in both eyes. how do i help him with it? i think it may be conjunctivitis.?

  • please this is important, i am really worried about my cat and every time i come home from school he would have snot like substance in and around his eyes. i cant afford a vet right now and i was wondering if there is anything I or anyone else can do to help her. her name is Mittens and i really love this cat, i don't want anything to happen. If you people have any help at all, please post it, it might be the biggest help ever.

  • Answer:

Part of that is normally. Cats produce that naturally and, in my family, we just call it gunk and wipe it from their eyes. If extremely bad and you end up doing that a number of times a day, then I would get an appointment with a vet. There are medications that can heal true problems with the eyes and he/ she will be able to issue you some if needed.

Could it be eye ****?

Clean the sides of her eyes with cotton buds and luke warm water. But its one of the signs of kitten flu so you really need to bring her to the vet if you love her. Good Luck EDIT : to person who posted below me... its only normal is its clear and drys and goes black... if its green/yellow (like snot) its a sign of the flu.

Clean it up a couple of times a day with a clean moist washcloth. If it doesn't improve in a few days, she probably needs antibiotics from a vet. Good luck!
