Will I be able to get the cat urine smell out?

Cat Urine Smell on Couch what will work to get rid of it?

  • So I have tried numerous sprays and cleaners to try to get rid of this urine smell. I have tried Woolite pet odor removers, bissel pet odor removers, natures miracle spray, kids 'n' pets odor remover, I even rented the rug doctor and used their pet odor remover to clean the couch. All & all nothing worked :( My cat peed on the top part of my couch and I took the stuffing out (not foam) and poured all kinds of odor removers on it and let it soak overnight, I can't smell anything in the stuffing, put the fabric on the couch I can still smell. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get rid of this urine smell, without distroying it? Thanks...

    cat pee smell is so hard to get rid of. try vinigar or lemon even better go to a pet store and get the proper strong stuff

When the urine gets into the foam, that poses some real challenges. Nature's Miracle takes time to work, as enzymes in it break down the odor causing chemicals in the urine, which is why it has an orange scent, since cats hate orange scents and will avoid the area. It may take several weeks to completely neutralize the scent. Liberal soaking with white vinegar is an approach I use, and I have provided a link. That is almost instant neutralization of the scent. You may have to resort to a professional cleaning service for the couch.
