Whats wrong with my cat...?
-
Ok, My cat is no more than 10 years of age and I brought her to the vet yesterday, because I thought, for some reason she was losing weight, but the vet said her weight is just fine, and he felt her for lumps, and gave her a clean bill of health. But I forgot to ask him a question that I even wrote down before I went. The question is... why does my cat sneeze, only when I play with her, for example, letting her chase a string around the room, she goes BONKERS! But she sneezes every single time I play with her, but doesn't sneeze at all other than that, only when I play with her. I'm not sure, but it did seem to start after I gave her cat nip about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and I was thinking maybe she has some cat nip stuck up her nose, but is it possible after a month!? And like I said I'm not even sure if that is when it started. She's eating fine, sleeps fine and is obviously playful, I feel so bad. And I love playing with her, but I'm at the point where I almost don't want to because I don't want to see her sneezing, very strange, any possible causes would be greatly appreciated, her name is Pebbles, and she's a Money Cat. Oh and the vet a few years back did say that she has allergies if that makes any difference.

Answer:
She may be allergic to the cat nip and can possibly still smell in on the carpet or the toys.

I love cats so much, I have two. Did you change your perfume recently? Otherwise she might have the cat flu. Becareful because cats can die from the cat flu. If you notice a dramatic behavioural change take her to the vet again.

If you have carpets in your house it could be a dust issue. My oldest dog sneezes like crazy when she starts getting excited in the house. Outside it never happens. It could just be down to the increased breathing and panting in a dusty environment! .... I use the word dusty in a relative way! I'm not calling your house dusty! Just in comparison to the outdoors!!

In answering your question about 'pebbles" sneezes. Take away the cat nip, since you were advised that she has allergies. Keep her inside and make sure you vacuum and keep as much dust out from her environment too I don't think playing causes her sneezes, unless it's causing dust to be disturbed and she's allergic anyway. Hope my insight to your question helps you & "pebbles".

All I can think of is that maybe her running around kicks up something she's allergic to in the carpet. If your vet is decent you can simply call them and ask. They don't need to give your kitty a full physical to tell you any insights they may have. Good luck to you and kitty!

Your cat could possibly have allergies. Try not wearing perfume/ colgne. My cat had allergies year round...I.door & outdoor & the vet put her on medication. Sounds crazybut its true. Good luck!
