How can i sleep at night?

My annoying cat will not let me sleep at night. How can I make him be quiet and sleep?

  • I have a 3 year old cat (he is fixed) who is driving me and my family insane at night. He used to be able to roam the house at night, but I have recently had to move back in with my parents who will not sleep with their door open at night. Even though he can sleep with me, he throws himself at all of the closed doors in the house at night and meows like crazy. If I try to keep him in my room at night, he just does the same thing- screaming and throwing himself against the door- because he just doesn't seem to like closed doors. My only option at this point is to put him in a bathroom at night where he will just cry all night until he is let out. He never stops crying- hour after hour, night after night. I have another cat who I have never had this problem with. I love my cat, but I am really starting to dislike him, and my parents dislike all of us at this point. What can I do? I would never give him up, but my sanity and quality of life are seriously suffering.

he's probably searching and calling out for his missing catballs. don't let it sleep during the day. Feed it large quantities of Nutrical early in the day...it's like animal crack/speed. then it won't have the energy to stay up all night.

One word. Garage.

I wouldn't put up with my cat actling like that. I'd get a rolled up newspaper, a fly swatter, something to use on him to break him of that.

Beating a cat with a newspaper is not the answer, neither is using a flyswatter. I can't give you a solid answer because I have a cat that does the same thing. If the doors are closed she does what we call pitty patting on the doors. It is her version of knocking Your only choices is either to get rid if the cat or find a new apartment for yourself and the cats`
