How to get rid of mice - other than by owning cats?

  • I moved into a little rental about three months back and there were no mice. I have 3 cats who have their claws and have previously proven themselves to be able mouse hunters. Since the cats obviously aren't doing their job, I'm wondering how to get rid of the mice. I can't use mouse traps because I have the world's stupidest dog who will repeatedly shove her nose into any amount of traps just to get the cheese.

    Old fashioned mouse traps . Messy but cheap and proven. Glue Boards . Not dangerous to people or animals (other than mice, rats and other small ones) Newer covered mouse traps . Safer around children and pets. Less gross out by seeing dead mice. Sonic noise maker. High enough pitch not to bother people or pets but drives the mice away naturally. Humane no kill mouse traps are good for the squeamish and those who love all animals. Electronic mouse zappers . The newest in "better mouse traps". Mouse Bait or mouse poison . Careful around kids and pets though. Good luck.

The best thing to do is address the problem that is attracting the mice, rather than the mice themselves. I had a mouse problem and was setting traps. No sooner had I taken the dead mouse out then the trap would catch another. There are tons more to come after you kill a few, best thing you can do is find what they are eating and get rid of it or put it in a sealed container (especially pet food!). You could try feeding your cats a bit less to make them more inclined to hunt, however, cats will kill mice even if they are not hungry, so that may or may not work. Good Luck!

There's a contraption that plugs into the electrical system that transmits a sound. Humans can't hear it, but mice can....they don't like it, and they move out. I can't remember what it is called, but I'm sure you can google it.

Lol about the dog.....get rat poison or keep ya dog in a trap or certain bouderies (I don't know how to spell that) and put a trap out
