I think i smell because of my cat?

I would imagine that the smell is transferred from the cats to the owners via picking them up and holding them. If you like to hold your cat, you might try bathing your cat fairly often to keep any smells away.

My family has three cats! Outrageous! But none of us every smell like cat! We make sure to clean the litter boxes EVERY NIGHT, use odor reducing litter, and litter powder (it also reduces smells). Works wonders! Also keep a febreze automatic air freshener by the litter box and you should be fine! Good luck!

Keep the litter box in a room other than where you spend your time, such as the bathroom. Also a box of cheap baking soda goes a long way. Put an open box near the litter box and one in your closet and one in your bedroom, your clothing drawer. put it near wherever you don't want it to smell. Putting the litter box in another room that you usually don't go, keeps the smell away from your clothes and you don't become as immune to the smell either. Also make sure the cats don't have access to your clothes, even your dirty hamper. The baking soda traps smells all the way from the litter box to your clothing drawer or closet, and in the way I have described, it does it in stages. Throw away the baking soda once a month and replace it. I have a friend who is very clean and worried about his appearance and his odor. Even though he used cologne and showered daily or twice, his cats had free roam of the house and the living room. He smelled strongly of the odor of the litter box as well as the cats. Since these things have been done, There is a 95% difference. (also don't go cheap on the litter and change it often.

Febreeze the sh!t out of your house, and clean the litterbox often. That should pretty much do it.

I had a friend whom lived with cats in a very small apt. the cats pissed outside the box and she rarely cleaned the boxes. That's when you start to smell. If you don't have friends who live like she did which I highly doubt then you may just have a increased sense of smell or sensitivity to cat urine odor and smell it on your friends. As long as you don't live like this then you should not smell like my friend did. Make sure the box is well cleaned, and try various litters until you get one that doesn't allow you to have such a strong odor to. I know im very sensitive to un-neutered male tom cat pee,can barely breathe. I also with 4 of my own cats and many foster kittens cannot buy cheap litter it just doesn't work in my house with so many. With one kitten though I think your fine, maybe yiur nose just works a little too well. Hope this Helps.

If you wash your clothes and use good hygiene, you shouldn't have a problem. A lot of houses also have the cat litter box in the laundry room... Thats a big no no, unless of course, you want your clean clothes to smell like cat urine after sitting in a basket next to cat waste for hours before being put up.

shower as long as you want with soaps ,, lots of soaps ,, every about 1 hour for 1 to 2 weeks and bath the cats as well and use some air wick in the house so it gets rid of the smell
