Safe sedative for cat, traveling tips?

  • I'll be making a 10 hour trip with my cat she's about 2 yrs old and and 6-7 lbs she hates car rides and gets too stressed out. Wondering if anyone has some traveling trips to get my cat through this ride and if anyone can recommend a safe sedative as well. Thanks in advance!

    Agree, start with your vet? They will have some safe options. You can also try something like Feliway spray. It is a pheremone spray that seems to calm some cats down. Haven't tried personally but have heard lots of good things..

When required I get one from the vet. Because there have been many improvements in sedatives, your vet will know the best kind. It stresses them out less if they are in a good carrier. Also, before the trip, take your cat for a short car ride every day so that she gets used to it.
