What can you do about irritated hair follicles?

What's wrong with my cat? Hair Loss around one eye?

  • My cat has been losing her hair around one eye, and I'm very curious to what it is. I googled it and looks like to me it might be mites that are in her hair follicles. I heard it's rare in cats. Should I take her to the vet and get it checked up? She doesn't seem to itch it but i can tell that it's irritated because she doesn't blink her eye normally. When i looked at it at first i thought she got in a fight. So is it mites? and Should i got to the Vet to get it checked up? And lastly, is it life threatening?

  • Answer:

Well a vet can tell you whether it's life threatening, contagious, painful, life hindering, etc. I think regardless of what anyone writes on here you should take the cat in. If it concerns you then it probably is concerning the cat even more and if it's not blinking normally then that's enough to say there's some irritation. Best get a quick check up then to lose your feline friend..

you are on the right track this could be due to mites and also a form of stress. The best you could do go ahead and take your cat to the vet and be safe then sorry. Chances are they will send you home with some antibiotics if its not mites. Be sure to go because this could spread to the rest of the body not to mention how close it is to the sensitive eye. Best of luck to you and the cat I hope you will let us know what happens
