What is a good projector for under 300?

How can I best connect my Popcornhour A-300 to my Optoma EX532 projector?

  • I have just purchased a Popcornhour A-300 NMT, and currently using an S-Video cable to connect it to my Optoma EX532 projector. I would like to be able to enjoy somewhat higher quality video and wondering if I could utilize another input on my projector for that. The Projector has a 1-composit RCA input, a regular VGA input and a VGA input that reads VGA / SCART / YPbPr and of course S-video. The media streamer has a 3-component RCA output as well as HDMI and of course S-video. I appreciate any help with this!

    Connections will be based on the available video inputs of your projector. In order to utilize the maximum resolution of your ex532, the best connection will be the VGA input however since your popcorn hour does not have a VGA output, it has a component RGB video output. My best bet is for you to buy a component to vga cable (go to amazon and search for "vga to rgb".) VGA and RGB component is much better than S-video. Unfortunately your popcorn hour is mainly designed for HD viewing and your projectors performance is quite limited compared to the Optoma HD models. BTW: before ordering the cable check whether you needed the female or male VGA connector.
