What kind of 3D glasses and blu ray player to buy?

Hi, my dad bought a 3D Samsung Plasma TV a couple months back, and I want to get him a 3D blu ray and glasses to watch on it. I'm pretty sure it does not matter which 3D player I buy, but the glasses are confusing me. I'm not sure which series Samsung Plasma it is, but do the models have to really match up with a specific set of glasses? If someone could clear all this up, I'd be grateful! Thanks all!

I don't think there shouldn't really be a difference. Since you have a Samsung 3D TV if possible I would stick with either a Sony Blu ray Player with Sony 3D glasses or Samsung 3D Player with Samsung Glasses to avoid any problems

Here's the deal... If you have a Samsung Plasma TV 3D ready made before 2010 than there are compatible glasses available. If you have a 2011 Samsung Plasma TV, then you will need Samsung glasses since they connected by Blue Tooth. They are compatible 3D glasses from a company call Blick which are compatible to the Samsung 3D Glasses.
