Why is there no sound coming from my laptop?

Why isnt there any sound coming from my bose system with laptop and tv connected?

I just bought a Toshiba LCD tv, i hooked up my Toshiba laptop to it with an HDMI cable (to stream nextflix etc), i have my bose connected to the TV in "audio" as well as an HDMI cable but there isnt any audio coming from the system when i play something on the PC(to be viewed on the TV). I had it hooked up exactly the same with my previous tv( a Samsung) any clues as to why it doesnt work now? Thanks for the help
Answer:

If it plays on you samsung then it should play on your toshiba. Go to your tv's system set-up and look for audio set-up and see to it if audio is HDMI enabled.
