What is a good speaker system to buy?

What's the best surround sound speaker system I can buy for under 600 dollars. My room is around 4m^2.?

I need a surround sound system to connect to the AV receiver, but my budget is under $600, seeing as the computer cost me 3.5k, the TV cost 1.5k, and the receiver cost $500. My room is around 4m^2, and I don't want any 'tower' speakers, as I want to put them all in the corners of my room. What is the best surround sound system I can buy for under $600 which will be compatible with up to date AV receivers?

The list at the link is a good place to start. Personally I don't think you will do much better than the Energy Take Classic 5.1 ... it's been widely praised for a number of years. But sound is personal and I'm sure you will get lot's of suggestions. The trick is to try to hear whatever you are considering and decide for yourself.
