I need help in choosing the right type and combination. If I need 2 lapel mics (PG 185), 2 body pack transmitters (PG1) and a receiver. So for this purpose do i need a PG88 Dual Receiver or Can I, buy this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/shure-pg14-pg185-performance-gear-wireless-lavalier-microphone-system and add an extra body pck and lapel mic to this config? Does the receiver in this support 2 transmitters? or buy 2 PG185 Lavalier Microphone, 1 PG88 Dual Channel Diversity Receiver (H7 Band), 2 PG1 Bodypack Transmitter (H7 Band).. all separately? (this option seems to cost more) Now do i need any other extra hardware like ampifier, speakers, mixers etc to get the system going? (i am a newbie to this) Also which band H7(536-548MHz), K7(590-602MHz), M7(662-674MHz) is usable in Chennai, India? Thanks

Answer:
The first receiver only supports 1 transmitter at a time. Using 2 transmitters at the same frequency will cause interference and you will hear mostly static. You need either 2 of the single setups (mic, belt pack and receiver) set to 2 different frequencies or as you mention, 2 mics, 2 belt packs and a dual channel receiver, either will do the same thing. The 2 separate units give you flexibility in using 1 mic in 2 separate locations at the same time (you can't split the dual receiver). In addition to the wireless setup, you will need a mixer, an amplifier and a set of speakers (plus cables to connect things together). You can buy those as separate items or buy a powered mixer (mixer/amp combo) and a set of speakers or buy a set of powered speakers (most have a simple mixer built in) or buy an all-in-one setup, such as the Fender Passport ( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/fender-passport-150-pro-portable-pa-system ). There's lots of options depending on what you plan do do with it, the size of the room or space and how many people you are covering. I have no idea on the frequencies in India. I looked and couldn't find any source info on that.
