Would I be able to return my television to walmart?
-
I bought a 47" television from walmart on the 10th of this month (6 days ago). I'm in the military and I live in the barracks and my battalion just created a new policy stating we are not allowed any television over 42" in our barracks rooms. I also do not like the picture quality of the television. I have used the television one time, but I still have the original box and all the accessories. I also have my receipt. My question is can I return this television to walmart even though I have opened it and will the accept my reasons for returning it? P.S. I have never returned anything in my life.

Answer:
I purchased a Sony TV from walmart, 40 inches. This was less than a year ago. I had it for about 1 week. I made sure to keep every single thing, even the plastic wrap. I put everything back in the box like it was brand new again. With receipt in hand back to walmart I went. The only thing I noticed was that while one lady was taking care of other customers, a guy came over, opened the box, and took everything out, and made sure every single thing was there. He was really looking. He unwrapped the main screen looking for scratches or damage. After he was done, he told the woman it was all good. She then asked me to jump to the front, and they gave me a full refund, no restocking fee. She did mention there would be fees if something had been missing. So no worries as long as you have everything. One final note, no HDTV is going to look very good without some kind of HD content. I'm guessing you don't have access to HD cable or SAT. Get at least a blu ray player for that bad boy. If you are near a major metro area, you can grab HD right out of the air with a decent antenna. If you have basic cable, run that straight to the TV with no box, HD locals are carried by law unscrambled, just use the scan function of the TV tuner.
