What is the recording program similar to FRAPS?

Why is this recording problem happening?

  • Lately i've been recording game footage with a program called 'fraps'. It works well and everything comes out good, except for one thing. Whenever i try to record A game called 'fallout:new vegas', it splits the recording into several videos (each around 5 minutes). Strange thing, it's only this game. All others work fine. Minecraft, terraria, etc. Does anyone know what's causing the recording to split into several videos? Also, It never tells me when it stops recording, and the moment after it stops, it starts again. Does anyone know what's causing the video to split? Also, if i can't fix it, what's a good, free way to put the videos back together?

  • Answer:

Fraps doesn't support AVI 2.0 OpenDML extensions; so the maximum clip size is about 3.9GB. That's why your files split into 4GB parts. It's quite bothering/annoying. Try Bandicam. It supports AVI 2.0 OpenDML extensions. So you don't have to worry about splitting the files. Also, you can upload the recorded file to YouTube without converting because the recoded file size is much smaller than Fraps. for examples) - Fraps: 300MB - Bandicam: 15MB See http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=bandicam
