DirecTV HD Channels Help?
-
On the DirecTV website, every package that comes with HD recievers has at least 40 free HD channels. That's what the website claims. The problem is that I don't have any HD channels on my guide list at all. Is this because it is too old. We got it a few years ago. It is hooked up to an HDTV with an HDMI cable. Say I would go buy DirecTV right now, with the Choice Xtra package, would I get HD channels? Thanks.

Answer:
Sounds like you have one of the older DirecTV receivers. Some time ago, DirecTV changed the HD stations to different frequencies that older receivers can't get. You'd have to trade in your old receiver for a newer model and upgrade your satellite dish to get the new HD stations and listings.
