Can I domain map without wordpress?

Domain Registration with WordPress.com still shows as in Redemption Period.?

  • Hi I was hosting my blog with WordPress since 2009 and the domain expired on 22nd of July, I did not renew it until the grace period was over (bly me..). After the grace period was over I renewed it with WordPress.com's domain services on 2nd of September and it was accepted. Now when I check the whois record for this domain it shows and additional line "Updated:2-Sept-2011" . What worries me is that it also says "In Redemption Period". When I check in WordPress settings it shows the domain expiring in 22-July-2012!! Domain Name: -----------------.COM Registrar: WILD WEST DOMAINS, INC. Whois Server: whois.wildwestdomains.com Referral URL: http://www.wildwestdomains.com Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM Status: redemptionPeriod Updated Date: 02-sep-2011 Creation Date: 22-jul-2009 Expiration Date: 22-jul-2011 when I try to visit my blog url it gets redirected to the domain, but the browser keeps giving an error message saying that domain doesn't exist. when I do a NSlookup for the domain nothing turns up as well. Can someone tell me what could be wrong here?

  • Answer:

You need to contact the registrar. Something glitched, and only they can get it fixed. edit--- wildwestdomains is a reseller under godaddy. Not sure if it's wordpress or not, I personally would go straight to godaddy.com.
