Configuring dedicated server for web site?
-
Here's the situation: Dedicated server running Windows server 2008 and IIS with SQL express Right now the domains are parked. How do I make it so when someone types in my www.whatever.com, my server knows which folder to show? Step by step PLEASE. Next, I currently don't have a mail server. How do I do that on my dedicated server, and configure it accordingly, for the same site?

Answer:
The feature you are looking for is called "Virtual Hosts". This means as part of a HTTP/1.1, the client sends a request which includes a Host header for the "domain" they trying to access. More information on configuration is available here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816576
