What does domain hosting companies do for the customers?

  • Hi, I'm thinking about applying a companies which develop Web Solutions, because I have the same experience. But they seems have IT service, domain hosting, too. What does domain hosting companies do for the customers? I was thinking below: *They take domain and IP address from the ISP instead of the customers? or are they ISP? *They provide server for the customer? *They set domain name to the server insted of the customers? *They also set the mail address? Is it right? or not? What they do and how they get money from that. I mean..you can get domain for free now. If I can get the job and if I work for the domain hosting, What do you think exactly will I do?
